I took part in Zeena Shah (@heartzeena) and Natalie Wall's (@talliwall) Insta Rainbow Challenge and it definitely brightened up a few days in lockdown! Already being a lover of colour, it was easy to shop my own wardrobe and style up new and old pieces to create a rainbow on my feed! It definitely helped that we had a week of glorious sunshine to boot! If you don't already follow these two ladies, you should! All the fun and positive vibes. Day 1: Red Admittedly, the pieces of red in my wardrobe felt too formal or festive, so I went for a favourite pair of red and pink argyle socks from ASOS. I love socks. Is there anything better than a fresh pair of socks? They add pops of colour to outfits. I am especially a fan of a sparkly lurex pair. Day 2: Orange Having posted on my Instagram that I was very into the shade of my sweet potato gnocchi, I knew just the dress to wear for orange day to match! I also went all out and added one of my favourite pairs of sunnies- another item I like to use to add extra interest to an outfit and make older pieces feel new. Day 3: Pink Pink is one of my favourite colours. It's just so fun, but can also be a soft and comforting colour. I invested in this Topshop dress when I saw it on @meganellaby 's page because it is SO me. The perfect dress for summer events. However, I am trying to not save my best for special occasions and rock them in the garden, also. Necklaces from Missoma and Made by Frankie. Check out her Instagram and Etsy pages for super cute beaded jewellery! An excellent dupe for Waldberlin pieces. yDay 4: Yellow Yellow and lilac is a favourite colour combo and always packs a punch. I love sitting down for an hour to do some nail art and let my creative streak run wild. Day 5: Green Ahh green. One of my go-to summer dresses. When it's hot I just want to float around in an oversized dress and this dress answers them prayers. Background courtesy of my amateur wallpapering skills. Jewellery from Missoma and Hey Harper. Day 6: Blue My childhood favourite colour and still is to this day... I think... I can't choose! I loooove denim anything and this Monki playsuit/dungaree is the DREAM. Also, give me a striped t-shirt any day of the week. A fail-safe wardrobe staple for any season. Day 7: Purple Keeping it real- I wanted to have a day on the sofa so choose my comfiest lilac pieces. Lilac is a colour I feel suits me well and, oh, whats that? A pair of lurex socks! I do hope this post inspired you to inject some colour into your lockdown outfits, even if it is just to sit in front of the TV- colour will always bring you a little happiness.
Stay safe, Emma x

Born and bread in Lincoln until I moved to Nottingham when I was 18 to start University at Nottingham Trent studying Fashion Management. I'm currently in my fourth and final year so it's dissertation time! Oh, the joys! Well, it actually is nice to be writing about something I'm passionate about. You can find out more about it here. I lived in uni halls in my first year, and them in a big house with my mates in second year. I then scored an internship at ASOS so lived in London for a year; a victorian terrace house in Hampstead with some other girls on my course who were also on placement at ASOS. And now I'm finally living with my long term boyfriend in our home in Nottingham. My family are still in Lincoln, just an hours drive away, which is good because we're both very family focused. Ryan's family are my family and vice-versa. It's always a laugh when we get together, usually over a Sunday roast cooked by Ryan's mum (THE BEST). Right now I'm working on nailing my degree, whilst Ryans at work, and we are working together to make our house into a home. I've been there nearly a year already and it's definitely coming together as I add more of our personality into the decor. The next step? Sausage dogs please!! I have dreamt of having two dachunds since I was young and my dad often reminds me of the countless folders on his desktop computer that I filled with googled images of them. But alas, I have to make sure I'll be around to look after them so they're on hold until I know what I'm doing after I graduate, That's a whole other blog posts worth of musings.
So I hope you know a little more about me and where I'm at now. Emma x |
